When I was in the fourth grade, I fell in love with a third grader named Brett Claytor. You can read more here. As I mentioned in that post, Brett and I performed for a school talent show. This is the song we sang together while he accompanied us on the piano. Enjoy, and have a great Saturday.

We had a talent show in my second grade classroom in which three boys sang this tune along with the record. It’s apparently good for that sort of thing! Great memory. Thanks for sharing.

You’re welcome, Sharon. Brett and I were lucky that he could play the piano pretty well for a third grader, so we didn’t have to use a recording. Thank you for your comment.

What memories this song brings back! Though we never got to sing cool songs in school, I still remember how the local rock station played this song during the Christmas season of 1972.

Bruce, that reminds me. Once when I called a local radio station in Sheridan, Wyoming, and requested this song during the summer of 1971, I was told it wasn’t Christmas yet. Apparently, the person who answered the phone wasn’t familiar with the song.
