In last week’s Saturday music feature, you heard a song about a man playing a piano in a bar. Today’s hit is about a man entertaining with a guitar. I can relate to this, since most of the senior facilities where I perform don’t have a piano, at least in the room where I’m playing. If I were a guy, they’d probably call me the guitar man. Enjoy, and have a great Saturday.

David Gates said he wrote the song because the guitar is an easy instrument to relate to. Most people either have played guitar, are playing the instrument, or want to learn how to play it. I totally agree. Somebody needs to write a song about a guitar lady. Maybe it’s up to me to do that, though I’m a lousy musician. Even so, I have fun and that’s all right.

Thank you for the insight on how the song was written. I suppose I could write a song about a guitar woman, but I’m too busy writing a novel. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

This is a great song. I have no musical talent…singing or playing. I am more of a classical music listener. Wonderful post, Abbie.
