This week’s theme is “glass.” The song below was popular in the 1970’s when I was in high school. I couldn’t understand it back then, but I liked the tune and still do. Enjoy, and have a great day.

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
In between
What I find is pleasing and I’m feeling fine
Love is so confusing there’s no peace of mind
If I fear I’m losing you it’s just no good
You teasing like you do
Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust, love’s gone behind
Lost inside
Adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I’m the one you’re using, please don’t push me aside
We coulda made it cruising, yeah
Yeah, riding high on love’s true bluish light
In between
What I find is pleasing and I’m feeling fine
Love is so confusing there’s no peace of mind
If I fear I’m losing you it’s just no good
You teasing like you do

Great song and great share, Abbie! It came to mind also when I was song-searching. 🙂

Thank you, Felicia. It’s one of the few Blondie songs I like. Most of her work is a bit raunchy for my taste.

I believe when Blondie first began, they were considered Punk, which is very much ‘in-your-face’ and anti-establishment. They seemed to become more mainstream as time passed.

I went with this one as well! It was the first song that popped into my head. Usually, I ignore that first song and try to dig deeper, but I wasn’t feeling all that well when I put the post together, so I ran with it.

Mary, that’s okay. It’s interesting that you and I both thought of the same song. Thank you for stopping by.

I ask myself that sometimes about certain music as well. This one definitely has crowd appeal and is fun to listen to. Great choice!
