Online Platforms, Facebook, WordPress and the Like, Just Don’t Listen to Users #Rant

As you’ll see from this post, Patty is pissed, and I don’t blame her. WordPress’s block editor has taken over my blog. I may have found a way to work around it, but other bloggers aren’t so fortunate. Why won’t WordPress, Facebook, and other platforms listen to users, especially those who utilize their free services? It’s all about money, and this is wrong.

Please stay tuned for a rant of my own to appear this coming Thursday on My Corner as part of Girlie on the Edge’s six-sentence challenge. It’ll be tricky writing a rant in only six sentences but not nearly as difficult as using WordPress’s new block editor. Meanwhile, here’s Patty’s rant.

Pattys World

Classic WordPress, Editor, gone as it was and barely available now in user comfort.

Users continue to speak out, but no one hears them.

It’s not just those of us using screen readers who are unhappy but does WordPress care? Apparently not.

I mean, nothing has changed, and if you see anything at all from WordPress these days, it’s all about some newfangled thing that’s going to cost money to use.

That’s right, it’s all about the Paying User, and to Hell with those of Us who have the Free Plans!

“🤑” RULES and People with 0000 Money Lose!

But… Wait… It’s not just WordPress. Oh No! There are other to big for their britches online platforms who aren’t listening either.

Facebook has suddenly decided that they’re going to do away with Classic Facebook, and never mind those Users who Aren’t Comfortable with it. Never mind those who have spoken…

  1. Hi Abbie and all.
You know? I am aggravated all to heck and back, but as I use it more and find workarounds I am not nearly as uncomfortable.
What gripes me is that if users aren’t happy and they’ve made that known, and those platform creators don’t listen then to my mind it’s as if the very persons they’re serving don’t matter.
Oh well, Zoom is jabbering in my ear telling me it’s time to go record a podcast, so I’ll go for now, and I look forward to your rant.
Of course, while we’re ranting we’re using their platform.
I’d go somewhere else but I’ve got too much time and effort invested here, and I think that’s what WP and FB and all the rest are banking on.
    OK shutting up now.

    1. I agree with you, Patty. I could move my blog to my website, for which I’m paying Jackie McBride at Bright Star Technology to host, but I might lose one or more of my 700 plus followers, and I don’t want to risk that. Thank you for commenting, and good luck with your podcast.

      1. There are always going to be updates and changes that we will have to endure.

While it does seem that these creators of platforms would care more about their users, it doesn’t appear they are going to do it and so “Forward” we must go.

        Food For Thought

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.
