It’s a sin to tell a lie. It’s a sin to sleep with another woman’s husband. It’s a sin to steal something.
It’s also a sin to suddenly realize that a six-sentence story is due today, and you haven’t written it. It’s a sin to not be more creative. But with so little time and so many irons in the fire, this will have to do.

Thanks to Girlie on the Edge for her six-sentence story prompt for this week, in which the given word is “sin.” Click here to participate in this week’s hop and read other bloggers’ six-sentence creations.

New! Why Grandma Doesn’t Know Me
Copyright 2021 by Abbie Johnson Taylor.
Independently published with the help of DLD Books.
Sixteen-year-old Natalie’s grandmother, suffering from dementia and confined to a wheelchair, lives in a nursing home and rarely recognizes Natalie. But one Halloween night, she tells her a shocking secret that only she and Natalie’s mother know. Natalie is the product of a one-night stand between her mother, who is a college English teacher, and another professor.
After some research, Natalie learns that people with dementia often have vivid memories of past events. Still not wanting to believe what her grandmother has told her, she finds her biological father online. The resemblance between them is undeniable. Not knowing what else to do, she shows his photo and website to her parents.
Natalie realizes she has some growing up to do. Scared and confused, she reaches out to her biological father, and they start corresponding.
Her younger sister, Sarah, senses their parents’ marital difficulties. At Thanksgiving, when she has an opportunity to see Santa Claus, she asks him to bring them together again. Can the jolly old elf grant her request?

Hi Abbie, well-done.
A grand way to show your talent on the fly.
It would’ve been a sin for you to have done otherwise.
It’s a pleasure working with you.
When we first met, I wasn’t certain of how we’d work together.
Over time, we’ve learned and grown and now working with you and watching you expand your creativity while helping to spread mine is a great joy!

And there’s my 6-Sentence reply.

Hey again, to me, those are the best kind.
You just open your imagination.
Look inside.
Heaven only knows, what you’re gonna find.
Let the muse go in and have a look around.
Suddenly, she’s yammering in your ear and on the page the words do appear.
🤣

I know what you mean, Frank. Usually, I work on the piece earlier in the week before scheduling it to go live on my block on Thursdays. But yesterday, after receiving girlie on the edges post with the link, I realized I hadn’t even written the blessed piece this week. So, this was definitely spur Dash of Dash the Dash moment riding. Thank you for commenting.

Committing to weekly blogging events like these is a great way to promote but not for the faint of heart.
My hat goes off to you who do this regularly.

Well, forgetting is more a mistake than a sin, but you did this so cleverly you should be forgiven either way.

Well, one person’s mistake is another’s sin. Thanks for your comment.

Definitely, not a sin to complete a Six Sentence Story so efficiently in a short time 😀

Thank you. Next week shouldn’t be quite so hectic. So, I should have more time to devote to the prompt word.

Abbie’s 6 sentence stories are great.
I need to get involved in this every now and then.
Seems a sin not to do what I am always telling my clients to do.
I must say, telling a story in 6 sentences is quite a challenge.
I’m not sure I’m up to the task.
I think, however, I may give it a try soon.
